We're going to sing three hymns, besides the music on the previous pages. The first one, Howells' splendid tune Michael with the text "All my hope on God is founded, is copyright and can't be reproduced here, but it's in most recent hymn books. You can hear a capacity crowd singing it in Westmnster Abbey on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W2oYTtyBSxk . SOPRANOS--we'll use my descant for this opening hymn, as you see and hear it below:

The Gradual hymn is one with special meaning for Fran, because the poet who wrote it, Mary S. Edgar, was founder and director of Camp Glen Bernard. Fran attended Glen Bernard as a teenager and knew Mary Edgar. The melody is by Toronto magistrate and composer James Edmund Jones, a friend of Mary Edgar's.

The service will end with this great hymn, and again SOPRANOS: see descant on the right.
There's a nice performance of the hymn at http://www.youtube.co/watch?v=Kc6QkhChlEg
If you have trouble viewing music from this site, email David at [email protected] and he'll send you a pdf of it all.
